According to the Austin Board of Realtors (ABOR), the real estate market in the city continues to boom. The latest ABOR report for April shows an increase in home sales and prices compared to the previous year.
In April, a total of 3,604 homes were sold in the Austin area, marking a 31.6% increase from the same month last year. The median home price also rose by 43.9% to $580,810.
The report attributes the high demand for homes in Austin to factors such as low mortgage rates, the city’s strong job market, and the overall desirability of the area. However, despite the increase in sales and prices, inventory remains low with only 0.6 months of available housing supply.
Real estate experts advise buyers to act quickly and be prepared to make competitive offers in this fast-paced market. With the current trends expected to continue, the Austin real estate market shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
