200,000 flowers are set to bloom in Union Square on Saturday in celebration of Tulip Day, marking the 400th anniversary of Dutch settlers in New York.

Dutch officials are coordinating with the city to plant the tulips, which will be a mix of traditional Dutch varieties and new hybrids.

The special event is part of festivities commemorating the arrival of Dutch settlers in what is now known as New York City in 1624.
